Q&A: Brock Cooper Proves Strength Is Sexy

Q&A: Brock Cooper Proves Strength Is Sexy

With more than a decade in the adult industry, Brock Cooper has all the markings of reliable and traffic-driving prowess, whether on set for studios or going live for camming.

He is also more than willing to sacrifice short-term gains for long-term happiness in line with his principles. Cooper described one of the biggest obstacles he’s ever had to overcome: “completely cutting ties with a toxic streaming site and putting everything on the line in the face of losing all I’d worked for up to that point … because my moral code wouldn’t allow me to stick around.”

I constantly hear from the fans and I would have to agree that one of the most enjoyable aspects of my room is the “coffee and chat” portion.

Fortunately, taking a stand paid off. “I came out the other side 10 times stronger and more successful,” he continued. “After jumping that hurdle, my perseverance was immediately rewarded with two ‘Male Cam Model of the Year’ awards, validating the decision to move on to bigger and better things!”

Under the handle of “mrcooperxxx,” he rocks more than 20,000 likes on his OnlyFans, 50,000 fans on Twitter and 100,000 followers on Chaturbate, where he describes himself as a porn actor, traveler, entrepreneur and gearhead “just trying to live a life worth writing a book about.”

To that end, he juggles indie and pro shoots with finesse, while taking the time to sip some coffee on cam and banter online with fans who adore kicking back with one of their favorite muscled stars.

Now, as Cam Star of the Month, the XBIZ Award-winning Cooper opens up about his experiences, philosophies and business strategies in this exclusive interview.

XBIZ: How do you balance shooting for studios with being an indie creator?

COOPER: It isn’t much of a balancing act, really. In fact, the two often complement each other, because the exposure and relationships you build on professional sets carry over to the indie work and vice versa. The guaranteed paycheck from a studio is also a nice way to balance the gamble of shooting your own amateur content that could go viral or flop completely.

XBIZ: Which platform do you cam on the most and why?

COOPER: Definitely Chaturbate! I cut ties with a very questionably managed cam site and was in the market for a new platform. I tried a few different sites before giving Chaturbate a shot and boy do I wish I had tried them first! From literally day one, my viewership, room interaction, income, secondary website subscriptions and everything else besides my stress level skyrocketed.

XBIZ: What do your camming fans enjoy the most during your shows? Discuss what kind of goals and chat room banter you typically have.

COOPER: I constantly hear from the fans and I would have to agree that one of the most enjoyable aspects of my room is the “coffee and chat” portion. Each night, before things get x-rated, I log on clothed and sipping a cup of coffee. Right up until that last sip, you never really know what direction the conversation will go!

Topics of conversation could range from travel to sex to current events to what we ate for dinner and pretty much anywhere else in between. I think everyone enjoys a place with a “Cheers” vibe where you can go and everyone knows your name and everyone says “welcome” when you join the room, especially over the last couple years when so many of us weren’t even allowed to do so at our favorite local saloons.

XBIZ: How do you approach catering to a broad range of sexual orientations and identities, given the diverse fan base?

COOPER: Respect. As long as respect is mutually shown between everyone in the room, things carry on pretty organically and without incident. I think, as a whole, most of my viewers appreciate the “live and let live” mindset and realize that what works for one person might not work for the other but as long as mutual respect is shown and we can all come together over a common interest, then everyone’s gonna have a good time and go to bed feeling good!

XBIZ: What lessons from studio shoots have helped elevate your camming game?

COOPER: Besides fully appreciating the importance of good lighting, I’d say it’s more the stories and the mystique associated with shooting for studios that have elevated my cam game. Viewers are always excited to hear how my day on set went or to inquire about a favorite scene that they’ve watched a thousand times and get that firsthand perspective. Often I meet new fans that first found me through my work with studios and then came to interact live on cam. It’s just one more exciting aspect of my life to share with and intrigue those that decide to spend their time with me on cam.

XBIZ: Discuss what you do during your down time, as far as hobbies and personal interests.

COOPER: I just love getting out and experiencing life! Travel, motorcycles and cameras have all helped me to do that to the best of my ability. If I can hop on my motorcycle, travel somewhere I’ve never been, and snap some good photos, I consider it a successful day!

XBIZ: What is your strategy for building social media engagement?

COOPER: I’m probably not the best person to ask about social media strategy but I’ve noticed the best engagement always stems from posting eye-catching content. We’re constantly blasted with a never-ending abundance of information all day, every day, and our minds have become numb to it. You’re lucky if your viewers even catch a glimpse of what you post as they scroll, so I try to make it something worthy of slowing their thumbs.

XBIZ: Any big goals for the rest of 2022 and beyond, professionally or personally?

COOPER: Oh, yes! Over the last year, since moving to Las Vegas and gaining access to a new pool of awesome talent, I’ve been investing in, structuring and shooting scenes for my own website. I’m currently in the final stages of shooting and hoping to go live with the content in the coming months. Once that professional goal is reached, I then plan to fulfill the personal goal of getting back to that travel and adventure that’s been put on the back burner as of recently.
